Janet sings Jazz/funk/cabaret at many of the top jazz clubs and private functions in and around London, including Ronnie's Bar at Ronnie Scotts. Described by Claire Martin as having a 'great voice' during one of Claire's workshops, Janet sings sultry, sexy, cheeky standards and also funky sounds from the likes of Dusty Springfield, Lulu and the great Shirley Bassey. She has manages to engage the audience and draw them in with her sassy, heartfelt performances.
Her passion for singing started as a young child listening to her parents playing the piano and their collection of jazz standards. Her enthusiasm for jazz in particular led her to study with various colleges and private teachers in London, including the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Anton Browne, Laura Zakian, Trudy Kerr, Mark Meylan, April Anderson and Emer McParland.
She has performed with a wide variety of musicians including Anton Browne, Chris Lee, Geoff Castle, Phil Mead, Barry Green, Don Hunt, James Pearson, Derek Nash, Robert Rickenberg, the Len Philips Big Band and Jamie Cullum!
She recently released her debut album, 'Hey There!'.
Hey There! as played on THE JAZZ FM, the Late Campbell Burnap's show.
