ROO POP SWING

The sensational Roo is a London based Jazz and Soul vocalist and artist, whose live work includes that alongside artists such as Mariah Carey, Bruno Mars and Michelle Williams among others.
Roo and her band run a host of successful live nights across London and the UK, including a resident slot at the world famous ‘Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club’, where they can be found
performing a selection of Jazz, Soul and Funk classics, plus original music, to an
exceptionally high standard, alongside guests which have in the past included Robert
Glasper, Roy Hargrove, Dave Stewart and Guy Chambers.

Her band (which can go as anything from an acoustic duo, to a jazz quartet, to a full band
complete with horn section) are made up of some of the finest musicians in the country,
whose previous client list includes ; The Noisettes, Pixie Lott, Jessie J, Plan B, Westlife,
Craig David, Taio Cruz and many more. They have also played as ‘house band’ at showcase
nights and awards ceremonies for Maverick Sabre and Ed Sheeran to name but a few.

As a lead vocalist for the Urban Soul Orchestra for 3 years now, Roo has performed at
events such as The Wimbledon and Queens Ball, and at prestigious venues such as The
Troxy, The Mayfair, Claridges and The Savoy.
Roo’s distinctive vocals have her in high demand of studio work as well as live work. She
has also provided vocals for huge TV, Film and advertising campaigns including: Ford,
Mecca Bingo, Roberto Cavalli, Playboy, Weight Watchers, BBC 1’s ‘Luther’, Hollyoaks, and
Hollywood movie ‘A Little bit of heaven’, starring Kate Hudson.
With a huge repertoire of music dating from the 1920’s to today, there is a fine selection of
music to suit many occasions, all delivered as a slick and classy performance, with unique
arrangements of classic songs for a truly memorable show.
FromJazz standards and swing classics by Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Billie
Holiday, to modern Jazz artists such as Amy Winehouse, Melody Gardot and Norah Jones,
Roo has a huge repertoire of music dating from the 1920’s to today, to suit many occasions
from dinner or background music, to party sets far dancing! All delivered as a slick and
classy performance, with unique arrangements of classic songs, Roo and band put on a truly
memorable show.

Roo and band offer a wide range of classic Jazz, Swing and Soul, as well as modern popular music
performed in a classy, stripped back approach. A full repertoire is available upon request, and special
song choices such as first dances etc, are welcomed in advance.
Different band line ups are available, but most popular are the variations of quartets, featuring vocals
plus any combination of Keys, Percussion, Bass, Saxaphone, Trumpet and Guitar.
